With all the events that have been happening, you might want to visit the site Ready.gov. This is appears to be a FEMA site that is intended to help people prepare for disasters. I'm not sure how you can really prepare for a major disaster, but there are some useful things that make you think.
The site has a few options to start with: America, Business, Family. Each of them suggests ways to be prepared for a simple power outage up to a hurricane scale disaster. There is even discussion of what they call "man made" disasters. There is also a kids section.
Their simple steps are 1) get a kit, 2) make a plan, and 3) stay informed. Here is the link to Ready.gov . Check it out. Be prepared.
For Realtors, you might find some helpful info for a newsletter here.
